I've been to both several times. I found the House of Blues to be a bit on the "pricey" side for what they offered. A lot of the food is "cajun influenced" (great if you like things on the spicy side, but bad in terms of variety for different tastes), and the "folk art" is definitely worth seeing if you're into that. Overall though, I'm in no rush to go back. Like most "Disney Area" restaurants, expect to pay about 20% more for what you could probably get outside of the "tourist areas" that would taste just as good.

Margaritaville, in my opinion, has a more varied menu for different tastes, and the atmosphere is definitely fun and inviing. The down side however is that unless you're a Universal passholder, you're going to have to pay around 8 dollars (could be 9 now) to park in their lot if you want to dine there. (There is no charge to park at Downtown Disney for House of Blues).

I'd say that both are worth eating at, at least once...I'd have to go with Margaritaville though as my favorite.

HOB has good food at all of its locations, as long as you are into a little bit of spice ... as they specialize in creole and cajun cooking.

I didn't think Margaritaville was all that spectacular for food, but definitely worth a stop just to see the giagantic margarita volcano. Maybe stop in the bar and grab a drink (or two, as they have some great specialties) and then go somewhere else on CityWalk for the actual meal.

My boyfriend and I ate at HOB and while it was good, it wasn't spectacular for the price we paid. If you're going to be at Downtown Disney, I'd suggest Bongo's Cuban Cafe. Still a bit pricey but great food and great ambiance.

If you like "theme" restaurants they are both good. Personally I preferred Margaritaville cuz I'm a Buffet fan!

The MUSIC is better than the food at HOB. Marg. is a little better esp. if you like "seafood". If I had to make a choice, for food alone, I'd say Margaritaville's.Good Luck! Have a good time in FLA!

(PS: If you want to get out of the "tourist hell of Orlando" go to St. Augustine. It is the coolest city in FLA; has Ripleys believe it or Not!, GREAT BEACHES(Vilano Beach), IT is the OLDEST CITY IN AMERICA,FANTASTIC SITE-SEEING......A GORGEOUS PLACE.)
